Yahoo! at Search Marketing Expo EastThree whole days of peace and joy and search marketing The 40th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts festival has come and gone, to no small amount of blather. While Danny Sullivan’s Search Marketing Expo East may not be remembered in song, film and hazy rock-n-roll recollection, you’ll probably get more out of it than a mud bath. Heck, you may even remember most of it. Starting next Monday, October 5, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, SMX East will include more than 60 sessions on SEO, PPC, social media, local and mobile search. Whether you’re just starting out in the biz, or are an expert yourself, you’ll probably be able to find a session that will make you sing “kumbaya.” Yahoo! will of course be on hand to help lead the chanting, with sessions on search, maps, trademarks, display ads and much more. Here are some of the Yahoo! panel discussions and other highlights you won’t want to miss: Monday, October 5 Duplicate Content Issues: The Search Engine Edition In this session, search engine representatives offer advice on the best ways to deal with duplicate content issues. Maps, Maps, Maps A look at how mapping and local search services work. Atif and other search experts will share insights and tips for improving performance. Trademarks & Paid Search: How Have Things Have Changed This panel will look at the trademark landscape to see what’s allowed, what’s changed and what might be coming down the legal pike. Yahoo! Expo Hall Reception Tuesday, October 6 Ask the Search Engines: Best Practices Edition Search engineers and representatives share their most important takeaways and tips for bettering your traffic. Universal & Blended Search Opportunities “Blending” mixes search results, news, blogs, shopping, local, video and more into the results page. This session looks at how to tap into this new opportunity. Wednesday, October 7 Search Meet Display, Display Meet Search A look at the ways in which search and display are being used to reinforce each other, with tips on how you can benefit. Managing Search Across Business Units A special session for enterprise-level organizations on how they can best meet their search marketing challenges. Ask the Paid Search Reps David and other representatives from the major search ad networks take questions from the audience about paid search. Of course, if you can’t be there, you can follow the action on Yahoo! AdBuzz on Twitter and on our Yahoo! Advertising Facebook page. It’s the next best thing to flowers in your hair. — The Team |
