When I first heard it being referred to as "panama" it immediately got my attention since I live here in panama.

Regarding content match ad placement I wonder how accurate it is. I've noticed with adsense that ads can change over time on a website or blog. What I mean is that you may have a blog about panama and you get panama ads shown on your blog. But then 5 months later for some reason the ads change and either pay more or less.

I'm wondering how that happens. This is not a question about adsense just to be clear but rather in yahoo. How are the ads adjusted and what is it based on?

Mika asks:

Is Yahoo Panama different from Yahoo’s New Search Marketing? Or is it just part of the new sponsored search?

Good question, Mika. "Panama" was an internal Yahoo! code name for Yahoo! Search Marketing's new search advertising system, which we began rolling out in October. The code name "Panama" gained currency among some influential bloggers who used it as shorthand. So the short answer to your question is that "Panama" is the new search advertising system, which includes both Sponsored Search and Content Match.Cheers!
