Party with Us at SES

Search Engine Strategies, Dec. 4 through 7, will stir the leaves in the windy city

You know the song, sung by “The Chairman of the Board” and other greats of Standards music:

This is my kind of town, Chicago is
My kind of town, Chicago is
My kind of people, too
People who smile at you . . .

If you haven not experienced the “City of the Big Shoulders” before, there is a great way to experience it while meeting some of the best minds in the SEM world. Attend the Search Engine Strategies (SES) Chicago, 2006 conference December 4 through 7 at the Chicago Hilton Hotel.

And while you are taking breaks from touring Chi-town’s sights—State Street, the Union Stockyards, the Sears Tower, the Navy Pier, etc.—you’ll want to sit in on some of the conference sessions and learn from a great search marketing line-up. Yahoo! speakers at SES will include:

  • Jeff Karnes, Yahoo! Multimedia Guru. Panel: Meet The Video Search Engines
  • John Slade, Senior Director of Global Product Management, Yahoo! Search Marketing. Panel: Auditing Paid Listings & Click Fraud
  • Josh Meyers, Senior Director and GM of Domain Products. Panels: Domaining & Address Bar-Driven Traffic
  • Kelly Graziadei, Director of Channel Strategy and Development, Yahoo! Search Marketing. Panel: Putting Search Into The Marketing Mix
  • Michael Bayle, Head of Monetization for Connected Life, Yahoo! Search Marketing. Panel: Meet The Mobile Search Engines
  • Stewart Easterby, Vice President of Sales, Yahoo! Search Marketing. Panel: Meet The Search Ad Networks
  • Tim Converse, Engineering Manager, Yahoo! Search. Panels: The Bot Obedience Course; Beyond The Single Site Mentality; Search Engine Q&A on Links
  • Tim Mayer, Yahoo! Search. Panels: CSS, AJAX, Web 2.0 & Search Engines; Meet The Crawlers
  • Tomi Poutanen, International Search Operations Director. Panel: Social Search Overview

Others you’ll be able to learn tips and tricks from include: Page Zero Media’s Mona Elesseily and Andre Goodman, Matt McGowan from Incisive Media, Greg Sterling, of Sterling Market Intelligence, Netscape’s Jason McCabe Calacanis, Todd Freisen of Range Online Media, Jen Slegg from Jensense.com, Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz.org, Online Marketing Blog’s Lee Odden, and Marketing Pilgrim’s Andy Beal, to name a few.

Join us for lunch
We’ll be hosting special lunchtime session on Tuesday, December 5 to discuss the new search advertising platform, plus some of our recent research, social search and multimedia initiatives. John Slade, Senior Director of Global Product Management and Pato Spagnoletto, our Senior Director of Marketing, and others will be on hand to answer your questions.

Be our guest
Also, we’re throwing a bash during the show, and if you’re attending SES we want you to drop by. It’ll be on Monday, December 4 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at The Enclave, 213 W. Institute Place. Transportation will be available from the Hilton, cocktails and light appetizers will be served, and we will have a live band. Be sure to bring your SES badge for admittance.

Be sure to stop by our booth, number 313.

SES Chicago is our kind of razzmatazz. It sure has all that jazz. See you there, and don’t forget your warm winter coat.

FYI, the union stockyards were torn down in the 1970’s so I doubt anyone will be taking a break to see it. Yes, I realize it’s mentioned in the song but you don’t want visitors from out of town asking people how to get to the stockyards :) .

Any conferences scheduled for the Minneapolis area. This seems a bit overwhelming.
